Powers of The Dean Scientific Assistant

     The scientific assistant is empowered to perform the following:

1.organizing the final exams tables in coordination with the scientific departments.

2.Organizing the weekly lessons table in coordination with the scientific departments in the light of the number of classrooms to ensure the  success in the process of teaching in the higher studies.

3.Controlling the weekly lessons record which ensures covering all the hours determined for each subject in accordance with the instructions in force.

4.Monitering the attendance of the higher studies students and their discipline in accordance with the instructions and regulations in force.

5.Controlling the students applications in the higher studies after being issued from the scientific departments and unifying and submitting them to the university precedency.

6.Persuing cases of movement of higher studies students from other universities to the higher studies at the college and submit them to the scientific departments and addressing the related authorities.

7.Controlling the higher studies students as for the terms and their academic leaves according to the instruction and regulations.

8.Participating in the meeting of the higher studies committees to discuss higher studies matters to ensure the best performance.

9.Preparing a report of higher studies students discussion before a week of the discussion date and setting and examining the discussion committees minutes the submitted to the college council.

10.Suprvising on setting the annual statistics of the higher studies at the college.

11.Delivering and receiving the examination papers in accordance with the rules in force.

12.Announcing the examination results after being approved by the higher studies committees in the scientific departments according to the specialization.

13.Supply the scientific departments with exam marks according to a sample prepared for this purpose to be approved by the higher studies committees.

14.The coordination with the scientific departments concerning setting the exam questions for the first and second attempts in accordance with the regulations in force in the undergraduate studies.

15.Adressing the official authorities concerning the higher studies student cv from time of registering to graduating.

16.Adressing the university presidency, the higher studies department concerning students' cv.

17.Adressing the official authorities to obtain their due approval concerning the lecturers after determining their names and offices by the competent scientific department.

18.Signing on the annual allowances and promotions forms for the higher studies employees as being the higher principal.

19.Addressing the official authorities and all the institutions except the ministries concerning these powers.

20.Controlling the pace of work in the registering section and distributing work among the employees and controlling their attendance.

21.Signing on the annual allowances and promotions for the registering section employees as being their higher principal.

22.Approving on granting the registering section employees the ordinary leaves they deserve inside the country in accordance with the law articles and regulations in force.

23.Signing the correspondence of the Iraqi, Arab and foreign students with the offices related to matters of registering students in the universities and the official authorities.

24.Organizing lists of the approval forms of new students alphabetically and recording and distributing them into classes in coordination and cooperation with the scientific departments.

25.Organizing and checking the documents, marks, the determined studying units and controlling the requirements of the preparatory study for all study levels.

26.Recording the students' course marks and setting the records and maintaining them after being received from the examination committees.

27.Signing the letters including students referral to the health care centers and hospitals.

28.Controlling the students' absences and recording them and organizing tables including students' names and number of their absences and announcing them on the sign board giving notices to those who pass the legal limit of absence in coordination and cooperation with the scientific departments.

29.Organizing summery about the dismissed and failures and dropouts students.

30.Signing on the students identity cards.

31.Supervising the students' social cultural and sporting affairs in coordination with the federal committee.

32.Preparing for the course and final examinations.

33.Applying the students uniform instruction and carry out the disciplinary punishment against violators.

34.Controlling the examination instructions approved by the higher authorities in the ministry and the university.

35.Controlling on printing and copying what students need in their study after the approval of the competent head of the department.

36.Distributing and granting some of these powers to the employees of the sections related to him.

37.Signing all issues  related to performing these powers.

38.Approving the expenditure  in cases related to scientific students or higher studies affairs up to (20000) dinars for each case on condition of the existing of the funds allocation required in the annual balance sheet of the college.

39.Approving the expenditure  in the cases which are concerned with the students' scientific affairs on condition of the existence of the financial credit required in the annual balance sheet of the college.

40.Approving the expenditure  the fees and bonuses for the Iraqi, Arabs and foreign undergraduate and higher students as approved by the regulations and instructions in force.

41.Approving buying books, journals and periodicals for the college library up to (20)copy of each of them.

42.Giving the employees of the administrative and scientific sections bursaries and allowances in kind of about (10000) dinar on condition of the existence of the allocation of funds.

43.Approving the printing the theses, reports and papers at printing offices when the college is not able to expend funds in accordance with the instructions of the balance sheet in force.

44.Issuing the administrative orders concerning the dismissal of the students due to their absence or cheating.  translated by Nada Hindi
